The city
OffRecord is an Oceania (OCE) roleplay server on FiveM for GTA V Enhanced. The stories come from people and the systems have consequences.
Made for FiveM on the Enhanced edition from day one, not ported across from Legacy. Everything we run is source-available, nothing escrowed.
Our own HUD, phone, menus and systems, written in-house. It doesn't look or play like every other ESX server.
Made for people who can't play all day. Jump on after work, get a story going and log off without falling behind.
Menus, the phone and the HUD all work on a gamepad, so you can play from the couch.
Hosted in the region for low ping across Oceania, with the city at its busiest in the OCE evening.
No whitelist, no application, no Discord requirement. Read the rules, grab a mic and come say g'day.
Get in
Three steps and you're in the city. The server is open to everyone, whether you're in our Discord or not.
You need a legal PC copy of Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced and the FiveM client from fivem.net.
Press Play now on this page, then Open FiveM for GTAV Enhanced: it connects you to play.offrecordrp.com. Or open FiveM and search for OffRecord in the server list.
Read the rules, pick a realistic name and step into the city. Your first visit to the character creator is free, so take your time.
Read once, properly
Last updated
OffRecord is a story-first roleplay city. These rules exist so everyone gets to tell their story without someone else's shortcuts wrecking it. Read them once, properly. "I didn't know" is not a defence, and neither is "nobody reported it": staff act on what they see.
No rules match that search.
You must be 18 or older. Your characters must be too.
You need a working microphone and must speak clearly. Voice is how the city works. Text is for /ooc and /me only.
No celebrity, meme, streamer or joke names, nothing offensive, nothing that breaks Cfx.re or Rockstar terms. You'll be asked to rename once.
Stepping away for more than a few minutes? Log out. Idling to hold a queue slot, tick a job timer or farm a paycheque is Class A.
Discord, in-game chat, tickets and streams of our city all carry these rules.
/report <id> <what happened>. Note their server ID and the time.
Open a ticket in #tickets. Attach a clip if you have one. A clip settles most cases in minutes.
Report after the scene. Breaking character mid-scene to argue is its own breach.
Breaches add warning points that expire after 60 days. Staff tell you the class and points when they act. See the penalty table at the bottom.
Report after. No breaking character to complain, call someone a rule-breaker or talk about staff.
/ooc is for technical problems only AClass AStuck, crashed, missing menu. Not for arguing, planning or warnings.
In custody, downed, being robbed or mid-heist when the server restarts? You go back to where it left off when you rejoin. In custody at a restart → hand yourself back in BClass B
Taking from a downed player, a body, a boot or a glovebox is roleplay: you search, you say what you're doing, they get a chance to react. No silent inventory raids.
Only DMCA-safe or cleared music over the radio, in vehicles or on a stream of our city. No soundboards in voice.
Real-world news, politics, religion, other servers, streamers and your out-of-game life stay out of the city. Your character has never heard of FiveM.
Using anything your character could not know: a stream, a Discord call, a friend's screen, a previous character's memories, a bug. It is the most serious breach because it's invisible to the people it cheats. Includes stream-sniping, relaying locations over Discord instead of the in-game radio or phone, and "accidentally" finding a stash you watched someone hide on stream.
Forcing an outcome or ignoring the city's reality to win. Things that get people banned here:
No moving money, vehicles, property, items or information between your own characters, directly or through a friend.
Attacking, shooting at or running down someone with no story and no initiation. Initiation is clear, in voice, and gives the other side a real chance to react. Ramming at speed is a weapon.
Under a gun, outnumbered, injured: act like someone who wants to live. No pulling a weapon on three drawn guns, no shootouts at the police station or a hospital, no wandering into someone else's gunfight.
If you are respawned (released at the hospital after bleeding out, rather than treated by SAMS), your character does not remember the lead-up to their death and does not go back to that scene, fight or grudge for the rest of the session. You may not respawn while SAMS or police are on their way to you, or to dodge arrest or a robbery.
Disconnecting during a chase, fight, robbery, while downed or in custody. Crashes happen: rejoin, go straight back, tell the people you were with. Staff can see the difference between a crash and a quit.
Hostile scenes can be brutal in tone, but they cut away. Consent from the other player does not change this.
Six on a hostile scene counts everyone: lookouts, getaway drivers, the person on the radio. If your six are attacked by more than six, everyone involved may join that scene.
No second robbery to split police while a first is going, and no interfering with someone else's active heist: no third-partying a bank, no "just happened to be driving past".
And willing enough to be there. No friends as hostages, no hostage with a gun in their bag. One hostage is plenty.
Guns, armour, hacking devices and vehicles are what you brought.
You can be broken out, but the second crew does not move until the transport actually leaves. Rushing it is "not valuing life". Smuggling into prison needs an in-character reason and a plan.
Taking an officer's gear needs a scene and a reason. Repeatedly baiting police for gear, cars or kills is Class C.
Corruption by police, SAMS, DOJ or government characters needs staff sign-off before it starts. Small favours are fine; selling the armoury is not.
Turf and gangs follow the crew ledger in game. Painting over a rival tag is a declaration, so expect a response. Gang wars do not spill into green zones.
Grudges, revenge and "they started it earlier" never make a green zone fair game.
Each character has their own friends, enemies, money, knowledge and story.
Not without staff approval. A character who believes they are one is fine.
These need staff approval first, with a full arc including how it ends. No parole if convicted.
Permakill = that character is deleted. No twins.
No threats of self-harm, no "I'll jump" scenes. Hard line.
Adults, from somewhere real, with ordinary limits. No child characters, real public figures or existing fictional characters.
Slurs, hate speech, harassment and comments about a real person's body, sexuality, race, religion or disability are never "in character". There is no roleplay excuse.
Flirting and relationships are fine; anything explicit cuts away. Non-consensual, predatory or minor-related conduct is dealt with outside the points system and reported to the platform.
No stream-sniping, no chasing a camera, no treating someone's chat as an audience. If you stream, your chat is not a radio.
When not on duty. Take issues to a ticket, not to their character.
No cheats, injectors, modified game files, mod menus, macros, auto-clickers, crosshair or wallhack overlays, or any program that plays for you or shows you what the game does not.
Duplicating items or money, clipping through walls, abusing a stuck door or broken callout: post it in #bug-reports and leave it alone. Using one is Class D; using one quietly for a week is a permanent ban and a wipe.
Alt accounts to dodge a ban, queue or whitelist = permanent ban on every account.
Classes and points
Every breach has a class. Staff always tell you the class and the points when they act.
Breaking character, /ooc misuse, idle farming, minor fail RP.
RDM/VDM, NLR, not valuing life, green-zone fights, group over six, restart abuse.
Combat logging, harassment or slurs, cross-character transfers, repeated or group RDM, police farming.
Unban application after 30 days. Metagaming, cheating or exploiting, ban evasion.
Points expire 60 days after they were given.
40 points on record at once = 14-day ban.
60 points = suspension, unban application after 30 days.
Staff may go under or over these for context, first offences and honest mistakes, and always explain the class and points.
Appeals: open a ticket within 7 days, with your own clip if you have one. Appeals are read by a staff member who was not involved. Arguing a ban in game, in /ooc or in another server's Discord closes the appeal.
By playing on OffRecord you agree to these rules. They change as the city does, so check back here and in the Discord.
